Jesus told his disciples the night before his death that the world will know “you are my disciples by your love”. As disciples of Jesus, love for others is one of the hallmarks of what it means to follow Jesus. And here at FSBC our mission statement for many years as a church follows this Scriptural principle: “Reaching out with God’s love to impact lives.” We don’t just want to believe that, but we also want to live it out.
Which is why every year in the Spring, in the weeks leading up to our Easter Sunday celebration, FSBC hosts an outreach campaign where we intentionally and collectively seek to reach our community with the gospel. Easter, the celebration of the death and resurrection of our Lord, is the perfect time of the year for Christians to be visible and vocal in their witness in regard to the gospel.
Our theme for 2022, is “This is Love” and it reflects our intention to show the lost people of our community what Jesus’ love really is. We’ve therefore created events and opportunities where you can get involved in personal ways in the greater mission of showing love to our community. There are events where you can simply invite a friend; there are events where you can individually show the love of Jesus to your neighbors. In each opportunity, there are ways for you to participate in the Great Commission. We hope you’ll join us and do your part to bring the message of Jesus to the City of Yuma.

The two celebrations are connected in meaning for both celebrate God’s act of redemption for his people, the fulfillment of which is found in Jesus’ death as the lamb of God on the cross. Join us on the evening of Good Friday as we reenact the Jewish Passover meal with each of its elements which will deepen your appreciation for Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. Invite a friend to come with you.
